To promote the 4th edition of Coala FSTVL, a music and culture celebration that is re-connecting millenials with Brazilian Popular Music, we created a gamified campaign that transformed the artists into 90’s games Super Heroes.
Scenario
The 3rd edition of Coala confirmed something its founders had known since they began dreaming about the festival: the lack of investments and interest in Brazilian music over the past decade created a gap between millennials and MPB and made it really hard for new artists and bands to be discovered by audiences.
Solution
To bridge the distance between millennials and Brazilian music we decided to bring back a visual language that is well known by the public, Pixel Art. Illustrations were made in small squares and multiple colors like the 80’s video games, in which our character selected players / artists to stand together for the future of music.
We are social
The campaign had a huge presence on social media. Innovative formats were used and 100% of the content including sponsor brands were designed under the campaign concept.
We created exclusive videos to present the upcoming artists before they get on the stage.
Coala is Music
Spotify is the official streaming service of Coala Festival. We created an animation with our character listening to a playlist on the app and displayed on the stage screens.
The Smooth Whiskey
Jameson Backyard is the perfect place to enjoy incredible drinks made with the irish whiskey. We made an animation to urge the crowd to go get a drink while watching their fans on the stage.
Coala is Love
12k people united singing in one voice the music of Caetano Veloso, one of the biggest composer this country has ever seen. The 4th edition of Coala Festival was remarkable. Watch the movie below and see for yourself.
